Hello there!! My name is Daphne, and I would like to introduce myself to you. I am a beautiful little female, with a personality to match. I am an exceptionally sweet girl. I love attention, and am very affectionate back. I just love to give kisses and be near my people. I will follow you everywhere if you let me, and love to share the couch with you and snuggle. I am quite energetic, with the typical puppy enthusiasm. I love to run and play with the other dogs here. I get along with everybody, but my foster mom says I would probably be best in a house without very small dogs as I get a bit excited and forget my size, and can sometimes play a bit rougher than they would like. I do very well with the resident cat. I will occasionally chase him if he is in the mood to play, but for the most part I just ignore him. Update 4/09: Although you could hardly tell by how hard I play outside and how active I am, I have been told my hips are not perfect. I went to the vet for x-rays and after a few docs looked at them, the general consensus is that I have hip dysplasia and will eventually need to have surgery to fix me. I am still too young for that, as my growth plates have not even closed and I am not showing any pain or hindrance in my activity level, so that all has to wait. Some dogs with very mild HD can be lame and show physical issues, while others with pretty bad HD don't even show it...so treatment depends on the individual dog and how they progress and right now, I am a happy go lucky puppy. I am already getting some good joint supplements and are continuing to stay lean and active to keep up my nice muscle tone...all which helps to support my hips and keep me pain free. But I want everyone thinking about adopting me to know this, I still deserve a home and a family to love me, even though I'm not perfect. Heck, who is...everyone has something wrong with them, but my hips won't keep me from playing ball and going on walks and snuggling with you. It just means that I need some extra supplements and may need surgery in the future. After surgery, I should be good as new...in fact, better than new! We are going to start raising money now so that can happen. If anyone wants to adopt me before then, all the better, I want to be part of a family that will love me for me, warts and all! And, it will open a spot here at my foster mom's house to save another dog from the shelter, so we all win! So as I said before, apply for me, come meet me, I won't disappoint you!! If you don't have a place for me, please donate towards my surgery!! |
