Hi, I’m Attikus! I celebrated my second birthday on April 28th, but I am a big boy! I weigh in at just about 100 lbs, but I’m the definition of “gentle giant”. Since I’m still young, I love to play, but I also know when to relax. Fetch with my basketball is my favorite game and yes, I actually bring the ball back. I also love to play with my foster siblings, but they don’t understand fetch like I do. Another of my favorite things to do is ride in the car. I make sure I stay by the door when my foster parents get their car keys, unless they are dressed for work, I might be going!! My foster parents have an 11 year old son and I like sleeping on the floor near him when he plays in his room. I am not a barker which everyone here loves. I am crate trained, going in willingly when guided there, and I stay quiet once I’m there. I am also housebroken and will whine at my foster mom until the door is opened. However, I don’t like to be outside by myself, I will wait at the door until my foster mom or dad comes outside with me. I am working on walking on a leash, I walk nice and pretty until I see a person or another dog, then I want to be with them and I pull. I’m a little nervous when it comes to fireworks or thunder, but I’m much better once in my crate. At my last house, I was allowed on the furniture during thunder so I try to sneak into the bedroom and on the bed, but my foster parents are working on that habit. My foster mom says that I’m incredibly smart since I have learned the household routine and basic commands with very little work. I know how to sit and lay down on command and will sit and wait for my breakfast and dinner. I will also give you my paw if you give me a treat. My favorite treats are ice cubes, Kongs with peanut butter or rawhides. I live with a cat right now and when it comes to her, I don’t have a strong prey drive. I will come up and sniff her but don’t usually chase her, maybe that is because she let me know on day one, that she’s boss. My foster mom says that I’m a great dog and there is nothing she would change about me. I will be the perfect addition to your family!! |
