Bruno is giant teddy bear who has never met a stranger. He is truly one of the largest boys we’ve had at Noble Shepherd Rescue. He is oversize in height and weight, really a Mastiff walking around in a GSD’s body. Too bad, no one told him that because he thinks he is a lap dog and loves nothing more than to rub against you and try to knock you down.
Bruno loves to play with other dogs, both male and female and is very puppyish in his play. He is a big goofy boy. He has not been exposed to cats.
Like most German Shepherds, he is very much a velcro dog. He loves to just be in the same room with you, happy to lay at your feet or upside down by the TV.
While Bruno can be a big couch potato, happy to lounge around, he does love to go out walking and hiking. Due to his oversized breeding, he probably would not be a good running companion.
He has very nice leash manners but does require a leash, as he does not have great recall. Bruno’s only bad habit is his OFF leash manners…he will bolt out an open door or past an unobservant door opener and will get away from you to explore on his own. Obviously this is a very dangerous bad habit; therefore a fence will be required as will leash walking when outside of fenced in areas.
