Chloe is such a wonderful dog; we really love her. She is getting used to Chance. She is very tolerant of him usually, but he is sometimes hard to take. She is beginning to assert herself when he overdoes it, so that is a good thing. Last night I was sitting next to Chloe and patting her. Chance came roaring up (he doesn't run, he gallops everywhere) put his teeth around her head and then did the same to me. We both ended up with wet spots on our heads. He is learning, though, and he also is a sweet dog. Ramond says that they played together a lot yesterday.

| Kaiser is just a peach - he really is a good boy - he slept straight through the night last night. My nieces think he is the balls - everyone at work has already met him - I work 2 blocks from the vets office - he has already taken over the house - drives Madison crazy - she drives him crazy - non stop entertainment.... right now he is laying in the living room with his nose next to Maddy's toes - he is trying to get her to play so he is biting her feet... - oop correction - he has decided to put his head in her mouth... he does give really good puppy kisses though - they are drive by kisses - but I don't think I have seen a puppy's tail wag so much. Again - thank you so much - what a gift he is! | |

Just wanted to respond and let you know that Cleo has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is the most loving and friendliest dog. She did not have any trouble adjusting to our lifestyle and I must say is very spoiled. We appreciate everything you did for Cleo, if it was not for you all who knows where she would be now. I have attached pictures of Cleo (she is so photogenic ) as requested.

Noble Shepherd Rescue is wonderful for both the rescues and the lucky families that get to adopt. When my husband and I adopted Duncan was the first dog we had ever gotten that was not from a breeder. The experience has been wonderful. I seriously have never had a bond with a dog like the bond I have with Duncan. My husband says we have an unhealthy obsession with one another but what can you do, the big boy is my baby.Duncan is a great friend and a very loyal and protective body guard. I cannot tell you what a gift it is to have Duncan/Jackson in my life. He is truly the greatest dog I have ever owned and I love him so much. He has absolutely found his forever home and I could not be happier with him. Thank you so much for all the work you do. Steve and I will definitelty be getting our next shepherd from Noble Shepherd Resuce. We love and support all you do. Feel free to put any of these paragraphs on Duncan's success story. I am also attaching some recent photographs of Duncan/Jackson.

Nikki has been with now for 11 months and is now truly integrated into our household. We suspect in her 'previous' life that she was an 'outside' dog so the transition to an 'inside' dog took some effort by all of us! Our experience with Nikki has been very positive and very rewarding - it took us a little time initially to realize that she needed time to acclimatize to us and our house rules.

Lila (the white shepherd) came to us through Lisa. We picked her up in December 2004 from Lisa and drove her home to California. By January, we knew she needed a companion. We went to a closer shepherd rescue about an hour away) and got Cody. He is a hound/shepherd/malmute mix. Cody chases shadows, which Lila thinks is downright stupid (it is pretty silly to watch a 100 lb dog leap into the air like a cat only to pounce on a shadow - so far he has not been successful catching one, but he continues to try); Lila chases tennis balls, which Cody just doesn't get. She is a natural athelete; he is a much more social with other dogs. Best of luck with Noble Shepherd Rescue.

Mandy is doing great! She’s is such a wonderful dog, its hard not to fall in love with her. She has the most beautiful smile, it just melts your heart. She’s playful, flirty, kind, sweet and she’s such a cuddle bug. She’s also a master at getting people to rub her belly for long amounts of time. She just has to sit near you, smile and bat her beautiful eyelids and lift her paw. Its just to hard to say no when she does that. And her nickname is ‘crazy tail’ because her tail is just so wiggly and expressive with joy. Its hard not to smile in the morning or when I get home from work, when I’m greeted with such happiness. She also loves to run around with her younger brother Willy (the beagle in the picture), they are inseparable. And she loves to take car rides especially to the dog park to see her friends.
She’s been such a wonderful addition to our lives. Thank you – Patrice Moriarty |

Jersey is a loving, energetic girl, still very much a puppy! She always greets me at the door carrying a "present". (Sometimes it's a shoe, or a scrap of paper. The other day it was a Carolina pom pom!) Oh to have had a camera, but I don't! She loves men and there are a couple that we hike with regularly. I have never seen her get tired! She is always ready to go and keeps me active! But she also is a snuggler and loves to give kisses. Jersey sleeps with me at night if she wants to, but has her own chair downstairs in the living room. She is my first dog ever without preexisting conditions, so I am able to have pet insurance for her. That's a comfort, though she remains perfectly healthy. She is beautiful and has filled out nicely. She now weighs just under 80 pounds. She eats California Natural dog food, but prefers it when I add baked chicken and some broth to it. Sometimes, she still tries to play with Pete (my 17 year old Miniature Pinscher), but she has learned to be less enthusiastic about it.
Thank you so much for rescuing her for me! Yours is a WONDERFUL organization and I love that you are following up on your adoptions! I still visit your site regularly and am always amazed that people often give up such loyal friends. Got a fire drill to go to! More later!!

Damien now has a new name; MAX is what he is being called now – Having a little boy, and raising him in a Christian atmosphere I thought it would be best to start over fresh.
Max is doing well, He lives quite the life. He goes to work with me everyday. He even has his own customers that bring him treats from time to time. I cannot tell you how much of a blessing this dog is. He is truly a text book example of why we call them Man’s Best friend. I cannot express how Noble Shepherd Rescue has changed our life for the best. He is now ” Max the Wonder Dog “

He was just Best Dog in our wedding last month. If we can get him to like the 2 cats, all will be perfect!!

Well it’s been just over a month now that I’ve been in my Forever home & things couldn’t be better, I have a great sister, a boyfriend who comes to visit & three cats to chase. Loads of toys to play with, a yard to run in & loads of woods we go & explore. I’m even learning some manners at obedience school. After our walks I know if I sit & shake I can get a treat! I’ve been for car rides, once to go see this guy called a “vet”, he was really cool & said I was one of “The Best” GS he had ever seen. I think I’ll keep this family, What more could a girl ask for.

| Colby and Spencer are doing great! Colby is about 75 pounds and Spencer is about 55 pounds. He's our little guy in the dog family. We have a total of six dogs and they all get along really well. Colby loves to swim with other dogs, kids and chasing toys by himself. Spencer doesn't swim at all, but likes to play keep away with toys and his best playmate besides Colby is Zach (Rhodesian Ridgeback) They get along with our cats and the cats like them, especially Colby. Spencer tends to chase them a little more which they don't always appreciate. We love having these sweet boys as part of our family!. We are really happy with them! I'll send pictures soon. Thanks for following up. Leslie |

| Hi my name is Roxie & I’ve recently found my forever home. I have a brother & sister teaching me the ropes. I have a big yard that I love to run around in & lots of woods to go for long walks with my new family. My new family says I still have a few manners to learn but that’s OK, since it’s only been about a week in my forever home. I absolutely adore Sasha. She is getting along with everyone in our household quite well. She has mostly adjusted to her situation. She is still a little shy around people she doesn't know, but once she learns she can trust them, she warms right up to them. She's got this insanely sassy personality sometimes. It makes me wonder if she were human, how much trouble her sass would get her into! Know that Sasha has certainly found her forever home -- And though she most certainly loves me, she's verrrrrrrrrrry obviously a Daddy's girl. :)

Simon has been with me about 2 yrs. now and as you can see he is healthy and patient with me about posing for crazy pictures (friends can't believe that he allows me to dress him up for Halloween). He is certainly my best buddy and protector. Family and friends who knew him when he first came to me still comment how he has become so much more trusting and better in social settings since those early days. So I guess that is a testament as to how we have bonded to each other. I try to bring him places with me as much as I can because I feel that socialization is so important. He loves to ride in the car so he is a great travel companion. He goes with me up to Pittsburgh every Christmas. Furio (my brother's dog) and Simon love to play with each other on visits and they are part of our family. He is my snuggle bug. When my friends say that their dog still pees on the carpet, barks all the time, and will destroy furniture if not crate.....I am most grateful that Simon doesn't do any of those things. Currently we are working on him staying off of my brand new expensive sofa, considering that he has a sofa of his own I didn't think there would be an issue, but he seems to recognize good quality comfort when he sees it. I would have to say I also got lucky to have a dog who loves me.

We have had Riggs for almost a year now, and Zoey has been the perfect addition. She has merged right in to our family like she has always been there. She is so friendly with everyone, and has adjusted very quickly to sleeping in the room with us. She loves being outside more than any dog I have ever seen, staying outside most of the day even though the door stays open all the time. Her favorite activity is driving Riggs crazy. We are so happy with both of them, our little family is complete! We will send pictures as soon as we get some new ones.

MY FATHER CAME DOWN TO VISIT ME AND WE FOUGHT OVER WHO IS GOING TO TAKE HER FOR A WALK. SHE HAS THAT MUCH PRESENCE IN OUR FAMILY, SIERRA ALSO CAME ON VACATION WITH ME TO BUFFALO AND WAS AWESOME, SHE LOVED THE WEATHER UP THERE AND WAS ALSO VERY FRIENDLY TO MY BROTHER'S DOG, THEY BECAME GREAT FRIENDS. SHE IS FIERCLY LOYAL TO ME AND GETS CRABBY WHEN WERE UNABLE TO BE TOGETHER FOR A FEW HOURS. BUT HAVE NO COMPLAINTS, AND HER NEW VET SAYS EVERTHING IS GREAT. |

Makayla has come so far from when we first brought her home, she has grown into a wonderful young lady. When we picked her up from the Vet's office we were told that she had been so badly abused that there was a good chance that she would not be trainable. well Ms. Makayla proved the vet wrong and came in 3rd, yes THIRD place in her obedience class. She has gone from a skin and bones 30 lb dog with mange and internal parasites to a 90 lb beautiful girl. Our vet believes that we will have her blister problems under control very soon and that is our prayer. She is one of the gentlest, most loving young girls I have had the honor to raise.
God bless and best wishes

| Lulu who we now named Berkley is doing great she has two great brothers Boomer who is also a beagle and Bandit who is an older Pomeranian mix. She and Boomer play and walk together Bandit goes with them too sometimes but with his arthritis it is difficult. Boomer and Berkley belong to a beagle play group they go to every Saturday at the dog park so they have lots of friends too. Berkley has been a joy she is bigger than the other two dogs but is very motherly looking after them sneaking kisses when they allow her to. She is definately a joy and we love her very much. We are a success story!
Madison has integrated into my family with ease. She is the youngest of my three GSD's and the one always doing something she should not be doing. She is the only dog who sleeps on my bed and knows the others don't get up there so she uses the bed to torment them. She is the smallest of my dogs (petite) but weighs about 65lbs. She came to my home a little shy but has turned out brazing, she thinks she is the queen, and rightly so.
When I am not home my oldest female is the alpha of the pack but as she ages you can see Matty stepping into the role. It has been a joy and will continue to be a joy because my dogs are everything to me.
Thank you Noble Shepherd Rescue!

Yogi has definitely found his forever home. He is a sweet, smart boy. He and Schwinnie, my 9 year-old shepherd/Dobie/Whippet mix who died in November (of bloat) were best friends and had a ball together.
I sent him to Gray Oaks in Hartsville for 6 weeks of obedience training. Smart as a whip and very willing to please, he graduated two weeks early and is back home a new, happier dog who doesn't chase cats. He is now a pleasure to walk and be around and our bond grows daily as we continue his training.
I love Yogi and am glad he is in my life. I do believe his rough start played a part in our tougher-than-usual adjustment. Although I'd call his adoption a success, I'm not sure my story will help encourage others to adopt.

| We love Blaze! He is definitely part of the family and even goes on our summer vacation to the beach with us. He is sweet, loving and a big goof. His one floppy ear keeps him from being too intimidating. However, the fed-ex man who comes to our door would not agree. So he is even a great watch dog although I am not sure he would do anything if I opened the door besides want a scratch. We can't imagine being without him. My son who for two years begged us to get a dog will have fond memories about his childhood best friend. |

Things are going great with Liebchen! She has changed so much in the 6 months we have had her. We love having her in our family!! She and Wyatt are now inseparable (unless they are each enjoying a chew bone). She now rolls over on her back every time you walk by her because she loves belly rubs. She has also become a Temperpedic Puppy like Wyatt is. Both of them take every opportunity they can get to sleep on our bed, with or without us.
It is wonderful to see the miraculous changes in her personality since we adopted her. She is a completely different puppy now. She is outgoing, affectionate and Wyatt is her best friend. She has even adapted very well to the puppy park and has become very socialized with the other dogs, which is a definite change since we first got her. Her new friend at the dog park is a dog named Misty. She also now loves going for car rides and her and Wyatt start barking when we are 5 miles away from the dog park because they already know where they are going and can't wait to get there. They enjoy playing and running around with each other. She loves going for their walks too!! We take 3 mile walks down to the stream and around the farm area by our house and she loves every minute of it.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to adopt her and making her a part of our family!
Sincerely, Kelly & Rick.

As Daisy is coming up on her 1st birthday with us, we feel we are very lucky to have her. She has been a wonderful addition to our family and we each enjoy each other's company. She had a few issues when she first came to us and is much better now. We go on a walk everyday, and when it's time, she goes and sits by her leash and stares at it until we go. She loves to go on the boat, and likes the beach, but not too much her bath! She watches the birds in the backyard, and we seldom have squirrels in the yard. She's a good girl and we love her.
Thank you Noble Shepherd!

Ella is doing great. She is a true love and member of the family. She continues to mature and her health is great. She is a beautiful, loving and devoted girl. She plays with my son to the point you'd sometimes think she's human. For instance, he occasionally grabs his South Carolina flag and announces "doggie parade" upon which Ella grabs her nearest toy and follows him around the house in parade march! It is unbelievably cute. A true "doggie parade"!
She is exactly what I hoped for and again Thank the rescue for helping us find such a good match. I'll forward new pictures soon.

We renamed him Taz and he is an absolute joy! Other than some anxiety issues, he is just wonderful. He loves the boys and the boys love him. He has to be where ever they are. He even sleeps with them at night. My husband and I have just loved seeing the relationship grow between them. Taz has also been great with our 10 month old. She can crawl all over him and he seems to love it!!! He has a very sweet soul and is very gentle, but lots of fun. We think of your rescue with much love in our hearts. We are FOREVER grateful to your wonderful rescue for bringing us together with this special GSD!!!! We only wish we lived a little closer so you all can see what a fine young man he has turned out to be!
We applaud the work you all have done and most particularly the wonderful job you did by saving our Duncan (with tears in my eyes). As you may or may not know Duncan was found to have at least 2 bullets in him this past May (found by x-ray/ultrasound).He is well and you would never know the difficulties he faced in his young life. He has overcome his past and living the life with his new forever family. He is the comedian in our group and ALWAYS keeps us laughing. I have been offered money for this guy from total strangers, some of our family members would steal him in the night if they could, and multiple vets have wanted to take him home!! That is what a super boy he is.....but he is MINE and I would not part with him for the moon!!! Our whole family has t-shirts & sweatshirts with your logo on it as well as Duncan 's picture (not his best shot) in the far left corner. Thank you so much.

Greta is doing very well. We live on a street with lots of kids and lots of dogs, and she is learning to make friends with all the other dogs.Greta is getting used to the cold weather. She still loves to play ball and steals all the neighborhood soccer, baseball, and footballs. She also loves to ride in the car. We get a lot of thunder and lightning here in Kansas - Greta is usually the first to know when it's coming, too. We still call her Reh-reh sometimes because the baby couldn't say her name when we first got her. She sleeps at the foot the baby's bed, now 3, every night.

Kiara is now know as Abigail von Hartwell (or Abby). We named her after the town in Georgia where she was rescued some 2-1/2 years ago. Although Abby bonded with us from day one, she remains timid of humans. She is, however, a great watch dog and will bark if anyone approaches the house. She has blossomed into an absolutely beautiful German Shepherd Dog. Without exaggeration, every time I walk her at least one person will stop me to say how beautiful she is. Abby and I have bonded very well-if I leave a room for more than 2 minutes she seeks me out. She has always shown keen intelligence. I've trained her to respond to verbal commands (in English and German), hand signals, and body language. Yes, she responds to my posture. If I stand at attention, she comes and sits at my left side with her head snuggled against my knee. She also always takes this position when I go to put her leash on. In addition, she actually picks up after herself at night. I tell her to get her bone and go to bed and she retrieves it and heads for the laundry room - her bedroom. She has great manners- She's trained to sit when we come to a closed door and wait for me to go through first. I could go on and on about her but in short, she's a joy to have around.
Regards, Ron

Leroy is doing great, he is almost 2 1/2 years old, weighs 65 pounds and is as gentle as could be. He gets along well with his 11 year old shepherd sister and is great with the kids. We have a son who is 5 months older than Leroy and have a 7 month old daughter that follows Leroy around the house all day long. He lets both kids climb on him whenever they want and Leroy could not be a better sport about it. We are so happy to have him in our family for the last two years.

Lexie/Dagmar (12/05) and Mikey/Hans (08/06) are doing well. Dagmar has completed Family Dog 1. Both of them went to a Tellington Touch workshop at APS of Orange. It was a bodywork class to teach calming methods for anxious dogs. Dagmar is still having Separation Anxiety, but not nearly as much as before. Hans is working on his shyness. We have a large pack, & they do very well with it. However, of all the dogs, of course they prefer the other GSD! They are both wonderful dogs & I cannot say how much joy they have added to our lives.
Success Story!
Hello from Dagmar & Hans Helton! Dagmar was previously known as Lexie, and I was Mikey, but am now Hans. Dagmar was adopted in December, 2005 and I was adopted in August, 2006. Dagmar & I like relaxing after a hard day. Everyone in our pack is nice, but I only let Dagmar on the sofa with me. It's a GSD thing. Dagmar has completed her first obedience class. Soon, we will be taking one together. We are enjoying life, running on our acre, playing with the pack and going on outings in the woods. We would like to thank NSR for rescuing us and finding us a forever home.

Nixie | |

Nixie was my first ‘foster failure’ – meaning that I just couldn’t let her go! I had been fostering her for 6 months and battling with myself the last two of those as to whether or not I should adopt her or not. After 6 months of having no one interested in her, I actually got a phone call about her. The person had left me a message that she was interested in her, but forgot to leave her phone number. At that moment I knew I couldn’t let her go. It was fate that the woman didn’t leave her phone number! I scooped her right up and made her a member of my family. She is such a sweet girl and I couldn’t be happier to have her. She and Kaspar get along so well. Nixie is a little socialite and loves to go up to people and give them big kisses! Her ears are her trademark and I wouldn’t trade them for the world! There’s no missing her with those radars! Thank you Noble Shepherd Rescue for giving me the opportunity to help so many other dogs and for bringing Nixie into my life! |

Abby | |

Hi to all you good folks visiting Noble Shepherd Rescue!
My name is Abby and I have definitely found my forever home. I have already won over the hearts of my "mama and dad", and I have made best buds with Saint. We could play ball all day long, and we especially love to play tug-of-stuffed-animal. My favorite part of the day is going to the beach to play ball. I am still scared to get in the water, but Saint is trying to teach me, he loves it. Seagulls and cats, I haven't figured out what they are yet, they won't let me get close enough to sniff!
I had my first bath the other day and loved it, I also love to get brushed. I am an "office in the house" dog, and I get to greet the people that come to the door. I also hang out with my mama in her art studio upstairs. Although my foster parents through NSR were awesome, my life is going great in my new home! I sure did deserve it.
My mama would like to tell you that if you are looking to get a German Shepherd, NSR is top-notch and they are great. Instead of buying a dog, rescue one! We are just as good, if not better because we are so grateful to have been given another chance.
Thank you NSR and keep up the terrific work!
Lots of Love and Wet Kisse Abby |

Sire | |
| |
Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that Sire has been doing really well. He is a young, very energetic dog and he does fit very well into my lifestyle. We keep each other busy by jogging, hiking, walking and going to the doggy park. The doggy park is one of his favorite places and I love to watch him play with other dogs. Sire also really loves to play with his neighborhood friends and wade and splash into the lake near where he lives. He has made many friends, with both humans and dogs, at daycare, PetSmart and anywhere else I take him. I have received many comments on how Sire is a very great-looking GSD and, of course, I proudly agree with them!
Sire is everything I was looking for in a dog; playful, active, comical, affectionate and very loyal and protective. He brings smiles and laughter to me each day. Thank you Noble Shepherd Rescue and especially Lisa and Barbara for helping us find each other.
