In Memory of Athena

In Memory of Sable

In Memory of Carlie

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Carlie. She died peacefully in her sleep from congestive heart failure. Carlie was our first foster. She was with us from January 2004 until November 2004. It was our great fortune that Carlie's beauty could not be seen in her size or shape. For if she had been youthful and beautiful someone would have surely adopted her. Instead she remained with us and brought such great joy to our lives that they will never be the same. She was my first senior foster. I have never felt so rewarded than through this experience. She came to us very sick and in poor health, suffering from a past of neglect from her former family. She survived and triumphed every illness that came her way, including cancer. She thrived through the love and attention she got from all my family members, especially my niece Amber, who became her "girl". She and Amber became inseparable and their love for each other was evident. When Amber looked at Carlie she saw Carlie's joyful and fun-loving spirit and her gentle kindness. She did not see her aging outward appearance. I encourage everyone who has never done so to adopt a senior. This has been the most rewarding experience my family has ever had. We will truly miss this exceptional lady.
